Technology for Biodiesel Production from Rapeseed Oil

A Romanian research institute has developed a biodiesel produc-
tion technology from rapeseed oil. The biodiesel can be used in
Diesel-type engines, in mixture with or instead of classical Diesel
fuel.Main advantages: - the obtained biofuel is a renewable source
of energy; -it reduces the emissions of green-house eff ect gases; it
is biodegradable.The institute is looking for partners such as indus-
trial fi rms or farmers for technology transfer, also off ering technical

Cogeneration of Electricity and Heat by a Special Turbine

special turbine which is able to produce electricity when connected
to an external alternator and heat at the same time. This turbine
is non conventional since it is doing work for free when the pump

Heat-Exchanger Working with Poultry Droppings

A small Italian company has invented a new machinery able to
generate heat from poultry droppings, avoiding air and ground
pollution. The machinery is a heat-generator that burns the poultry
droppings, which no longer pollute water sheets. The company is

Nanoporous Silicon Hydrid: A New Solid Hydrogen Source

transform fatty by-products into electricity and heat. First the by-
products are treated to extract the fat. Fat is then transformed into
biofuel and a cogeneration-set generates electricity and heat. The

ucts in the meat industry. The company is looking for commercial
