SUBJECT: Reverse Activated Alarm Installation on Trucks
Equipped with Solid State Accelerator
Improper installation of a reverse activated horn or light can cause early failure of the solid state
accelerator card. The use of an auxiliary contactor will isolate the horn or light from the traction
control circuit, thus avoiding card failure due to a current overload.
Units not equipped with the solid state accelerator do not need this alteration.
The parts listed below are required for proper installation. They must be installed per Figure A.
