Origin

anterior surface of the sternal (medial) one
half of the clavicle

Insertion

Crest of the greater tubercle of the
humerus
The clavicular fibers are more anterior and
caudal on the crest than the sternocostal
fibers which twist on themselves and are
more posterior and cranial

Actions

Glenohumeral flexion and medial rotation,
horizontal adduction of the humerus to
opposite shoulder

Nerve

Lateral Pectoral Nerve
