It is commonly said that wine can be good for our health, but it is important to understand what the
specifics are of these benefits in order for us to ensure that we make best of them. One example of this
is that not many people are actually aware that this applies only to red wine and that only red wine
offers these benefits, because of the certain flavnoids in the red wine that is not available in white
wine. This however does not necessarily mean that white wine is completely unhealthy, rather it is the
red wine benefits that we particularly look for when looking for benefits from wine.

Red wine benefits are numerous and plentiful. When these wines are drank in moderation, studies
have shown that it does help in the prevention of heart disease. As a matter of fact, studies have also
shown that a single glass or drink of wine per day for women and 2 glasses or drinks per day for men
actually lower the risks involved with heart attacks in people in their middle ages by about 30 to 50
percent ; an impressive statistic for those in that bracket.

There are a great many benefits that red wine brings, such as its ability to help lower LDL or bad
cholesterol with the body ; this is a proven fact. This makes drinking red wine important because the
ability to lower ones cholesterol level reduces the risk of having blood clots form in the blood vessels
due to fatty deposits and blood vessel damage potential is reduced.

What is important to know is that these benefits only come from red wine that is drank in moderation,
and not by drinking to much. Just because it is good for does not mean you can drink more of it than
is actually recommended. Drinking too much wine actually puts you more at risk of certain medical
conditions like obesity, high blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, stroke, cholesterol build-up and
cardiac arrest.

The Good Effects of Drinking Red Wine

Being a particularly good source of antioxidants which cleanses the human system, red wine is indeed
beneficial to the body. Other substances found in red wine include Resveratrol, which is a substance
know to help increase the levels of HDL or good cholesterol, and various other antioxidant properties
that assist in the prevention of blood clot and plaque formation with the arterial walls of the veins and
arteries, as shown by medical studies.

Further research and studies have also shown that the red wine benefits are abundant, however it
should also be importantly noted that in order to make use of the benefits red wine provides, a healthy
lifestyle must also be maintained in conjunction with drinking red wine. By having a body that is
generally in good shape overall, the ability to make use of the red wine benefits is much easier to
achieve and prosper from.

Knowing the Types of Red wine you should intake

So you know that red wine is good for you, but you should also know what to eat along with it and the
types available. In general red wine goes great with some types of meals, and should you go to some
restaurants, it is common to find recommendations of wine along with the meals on the menu. The
food the best goes with red wine in general includes pastas, beef, chocolate and foods with red sauces.
Indeed certain foods go with red wines and some don't.
