(REVISED) STEERING COLUMN & EPS UNIT ASSEMBLY INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT

 

Description 

 

■ Symptom/Condition 
    Some cee’d (ED) vehicles might experience several subjects coming from column assembly - steering  
    & EPS unit assembly (e.g. knocking noise, poor performance, warning light on). 
■ Cause 
    Possible column assembly - steering & EPS unit assembly malfunction.     
■ Countermeasure 
    Replace the column assembly - steering & EPS unit according the procedure below.

 THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES PREVIOUS TSB KGE09-61-V040-ED. DISCARD THE PREVIOUS TSB.

Service Procedure 

 

1) Replace the steering column shaft according to the  
    applicable workshop manual. 

 Note) 

 While replacing the steering column & EPS unit 

 assembly, be sure to use correct tightening torque  

 for the bolt (A) when assembling the steering  

 column & EPS unit assembly and the universal  

 joint assembly. 

 

 - Tightening torque: 30~35 N.m 

   (3.0~3.5 kgf.m, 22~25 lbf.ft)
