A beautifully detailed cardigan that goes with most
everything! Designed with reverse Stockinette stitch
"seaming" to accentuate the waist shaping. Garter stitch
button bands are curved at the bottom hem and knit in as
part of the front sections.
The generous and cozy shawl collar is also knit in as part
of the front sections. Deep garter stitch cuffs finish the
slim, shaped, fit-in sleeves. Five big woven leather
buttons give it a luxe touch and complete the tailored, yet
sexy, silhouette perfectly.

GAUGE
8 stitches = 3” and approx. 17 rows = 4” in St st on size 11 (8mm) needles.
PLEASE TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE
NOTES:
1) "rev St st" is the same as the Stockinette stitch, but the purl side is used as the
"Right Side" of the sweater, and the knit side is used as the "Wrong Side" of the
sweater.
2) "k-inc" – To increase into a knit stitch, knit the front of the stitch (as you normally
do), but before you let the stitch slip off of your left needle, knit into the back of that
same stitch. Now, allow the stitch to slip off of the left needle. This is also called
"knitting into the front and back of a stitch" to do an increase.
3) "p-inc" – Same as the k-inc, except that to purl into the back of the same stitch (for
the increase part), you will need to stick your needle in from left to right in the back.
4) "m1" – To increase by making 1, pick up the strand lying between the stitch just
knit and the next stitch (on your left needle) with your left needle tip from front to
back. Now, knit that picked up strand using the back side of the strand, as if to knit
the back of a stitch (this will twist the strand to prevent a hole).
5) The Garter st front button bands and shawl collar are "knit-in", i.e. they are
created while knitting the left front and right front pieces by knitting the specified
stitches in Garter st and increasing along the neck edge to create the shawl collar
shape.
6) "co at the end" – To cast on stitches at the end of a row, use the single strand cast
on by looping the yarn around your thumb and slipping it onto your right needle,
thereby adding the extra stitches (a GREAT image of this technique can be found at:
http://www.dnt-inc.com/barhtmls/knit/sco.html).
