Outside Venlo on the N271 after passing the Adventure Parc Taurus
you soon enter the romantic village of Arcen which is sutuated
directly at the border of the Maas. It is the home of the famous
Castle Gardens or Kasteel Tuinen. Arcen offers plenty of
accommodation in various categories and also has several indoor
and outdoor swimming pools as well as a large spa with thermal
baths. There are also several campings and caravan parcs located
in the woods.
Around the market square you find several restaurants offering

Limburgse Vlaai with coffee. And you can dine and wine on the
summer terraces with view on the river or the wooded parcs, There
is also an old mill and a historic canon, which stills watches over
the boats that passes by on the river. The old mill is now a brewery
museum where you can learn how Jenever is made and actually
can taste this very strong  wine with its very peculiour flavour.
