How to…

Maintain Security for your Supervisor Keys

What you need to know

Read – understand – and sign the Supervisor Cash and Security handling policy.

When/where to sign in/out any keys allocated to you.

What each key is for.

The security procedures of daily/shift keys.

What you should do in the event of lost keys.

What to do if your key fails to lock/unlock.

Your unit will have a document like this to sign in and out unit keys.

How we do it…

You will be allocated with a bunch of keys

(pictured).

Sign for your keys in the key log book and sign when handing
your keys back to your manager.

Keep your keys with you at all times.

Always double check locks are secure.

Replace any relevant keys in the key box

(pictured)

and ensure it is re locked.

Never

leave any secure area unlocked for any reason.

Do not

allow any other person to use your keys.

Report

immediately to your manager should you discover

any of your keys are lost, stolen, or fail to work.

You are responsible for…

•  Keeping the unit stock and cash secure

at all times.

•  Be aware at all times of possible

suspicious persons.

•  Making sure you are not followed when

entering your unit, stock rooms,
or security areas.

•  Signing in and out relevant keys.
•  Returning your keys prior to taking

authorised holidays/absences from your unit.

•  Ensuring the key box is kept locked at

all times.

•  Reporting any discrepancies of stock

or cash immediately to your manager.

Your challenge…

•  Find out what each key is for.
•  Check which occasions you will need to

return the keys that are allocated for you
to take home.

•  Ask your buddy which keys should be stored

in the key box.

•  Find the best place to secure the keys on

your person at all times – ask your buddy
for help.
