WSJT-X Full-Auto MOD
By SQ9FVE
Version: 0.7
Date: 14.05.2019
Features
1. Auto CQ
When this option is selected, and Enable TX is on, WSJT-X will call CQ, answer to the first calling station, add the
QSO automatically and return to calling CQ.
Ticking this will automatically set the TX5 as active and Enable TX.
2. Auto Call
When this option is selected, WSJT-X will call the last decoded station appearing in the Band Activity window,
and automatically log the QSO if successful.
3. New / New on band filtering
Select the desired combination to show only matching stations.
You can mix and match, stations will appear if they match ANY criteria.
4. Minimum signal
Filter out stations with signals weaker than your selection.
5. Prefix filtering
This feature allows you to Include or Exclude certain prefixes.
If you select Include from the dropdown, only stations with matching prefixes will be shown in the Band Activity
window, if you select Exclude only stations that don’t match any of the prefixes will be shown.
Filtering is based on the band. Syntax is as follows:
20m:PFX1,PFX2,PFX3
40m:PFX1,PFX2,PFX3
6. Ignore CQ targets
You can define targeted CQs that will be ignored.
Example: being a EU station, you can safely ignore all CQ NA, CQ JA, CQ ASIA etc.
a) Ignore CQ DX from – this options will ignore stations from certain continent that are calling CQ DX, to allow
filtering local stations looking for DX
7. QSO counter
WSJT-X will now show you a count of QSO’s made in the current session.
8. Auto ignore
When working in Auto Call mode, if a station doesn’t respond within the time defined in the TX Watchdog, it will
be added to the temporary Ignored Stations list. Stations on that list will be ignored for for the duration of the
session. This list is NOT preserved between wsjt-x restarts. You can manually delete a station from that list.
a) Add station – adds the current station to ignore list
b) Clear – clears the ignored stations window
9. Continents filter
You can decide to show stations located on particular continents only.
10. Filtering order
The order of filtering stations is shown below. In order for a station to be shown in the Band Activity window it
needs to pass all the below filters (if enabled).
a) Ignore list
b) Minimum signal strength
c) Continent filter
d) CQ Target filter
e) CQ DX filter
f) Prefix filter
g) New / New on band
For example:
If a station matches a continent selected in c), but has a signal weaker than what’s specified in b) it will not
appear, as b) is processed first.
11. Context menu options
Both Band Activity and Rx Frequency windows have custom context menu options now.
11.1
Clear
Clears the window.
11.2
Ignore station
Adds the clicked transmitting station to the temporary ignore list.
11.3
Pounce
Clicking on Pounce will:
-
add the clicked station to DX Call box (see below)
-
generate standard messages
-
check Tx1 message (or Tx2 message if Tx1 is disabled)
-
change Rx frequency to the stations Tx frequency
-
Enable ‘Pounce’ checkbox below
When the Pounce checkbox is checked, the DX Call box background will be changed to orange.
In this mode WSJT-X will wait for the selected station to complete a running QSO.
As soon as the station will Tx ’73’, ‘RR73’ or ‘CQ’ WSJT-X will automatically start calling it.
NOTES
1. Enable “Double-click on call sets Tx enable” in Settings
2. Set the TX Watchdog to a reasonable amount (I use 3 min for FT8, 1min for FT4) to make sure you don’t call
a station indefinitely in Auto Call mode.
3. Enable “Blank line between decoding periods” in Settings
