Once all 6 are made you will work around the top of the first motif. You will put both

right sides faceing and you will join with a slst through the ch1 of R6, and slst through
the FL of the center motif and the back loop of the side motif all the way down to the

ch1 space. You will slst through the ch1 space, Then grab the next motif and go through

the same center's ch1 and into the next motifs ch1 and repeat the directions.

You will then join the two sides and go from ch1 to ch1 same as the top slst the way

finish off and weave in all ends.

Ears-

R1) ch2 3sc in 1

R2) ch1, 2hdc in each stitch ,turn

R3) ch1, 1hdc in the same stitch as ch1 and 2hdc in the next

Nose

R1) Mc, in the circle do 3hdc,3dc,3hdc,3dc join to top of 1 hdc,

R2) ch1, 1hdc in each stitch around join to the ch1 leave a tail for sewing it on the

hat.

With a black or another color sew out wiskers from base of the nose where it was

sewn in

You can use a button for the nose spot or you can

R1) mc, 6hdc in the circle join with a slst to 1

hdc, leave a tail for sewing in.

Tail-

R1) MC, 5hdc in the circle

R2-15) ch1 1hdc in each stitch around and join with a slst. (Lightly

Stuff as you go)

R6) ch1,hdc in same stitch as ch1 and in the next 5, trn

R7) ch1 hdc in same stitch as ch1 and in the next 5,trn

R8) Ch1,hdc2tog , hdc in the next 2, hdc2tog, trn

R9) ch1, sc around

(sew the tail with the last few rounds (6-8) going up so the tail lays

down the the cover.

EYES

R1) Mc, in the circle do 3hdc,3dc,3hdc,3dc join to

top of 1 hdc, leave a tail for sewing it on the hat.

Sew two button in for eyes and for the Molly sew in

eyelashes into the top outer corners

R1 - MC, 10 sc, sl st to the first sc

R2 - (ch2, 2dc, hdc) in same stitch, slip stitch in next, *(sl st,

ch2, 2dc, hdc) in next,

slip stitch in next * repeat from * to * around, slip stitch to

beginning.

(you should have 5 petals)

Leave a long tail and sew below hippo ear. Attach button for decoration.
