Materials – Kid Silk from Austermann 
75% Kid Mohair, 25% Silk, each ball = approx 225 m/ 25 g

 

225 g Color 10 natur (natural) 
 
Materials – Royal from Austermann 
60% Merino Wool, 20% Polyamid, 10% Silk, 10% Cashmere,  
each ball = approx 200 m/ 50 g

 

100 g Color 01 wollweiß (off white) 
 
Knitting needles one pair each sizes 3 and 4 mm (US 3 and 6) and one circular size 3 mm 
(US 3) from Schoeller and Stahl 
Other Materials: Waistband elastic, 4 cm/1 ½” wide, approx 68 cm/27” long 
 
Take time to check gauge! (Change needle size if necessary) 
 
Basic Pat 1: (Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”) 
St st with Kid Silk and size 4 mm (US 6) needles 
 
Basic Pat 2: (Gauge: 26 sts and 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”) 
St st with Kid Silk + Royal and size 3 mm (US 3) needles 
 
Instructions: 
Skirt is worked in 5 rectangles (95 x 33 cm/37 ½ x 13”). For each rectangle, cast on 175 sts and work 86 rows in Basic Pat 1, 
then place sts on a holder. Two pieces are for the under skirt, 3 pieces for the top skirt. Then lay the pieces over one another. 
With size 3 mm (US 3) needles and Kid Silk + Royal and join them in the 1

st

 rnd, and working the sts of the under skirt tog with 

the sts of the top skirt. Work joining rnd as foll: On the 1

st

 piece of the under skirt, count 30 sts from the right, then lay the 1

st

 

piece of the top skirt and K the 1st st tog with the 31st st of the under skirt, K the next 2 sts of the top skirt tog with the 32nd st of 
the under skirt, etc. Always alternate working tog 1 st of top skirt with 1 st of under skirt and then 2 sts of top skirt with 1 st of 
under skirt. This gathers the upper skirt. After all sts of the 1

st

 piece of the under skirt are used, then work with the sts of the 2

nd

 

piece, ending the the first 30 sts of the 1

st

 piece. Slip sts of top piece to circular needle. For the hip band, cont to work in rnds in 

Basic Pat 2 as foll: 
Rnd 1: Work 350 sts. 
Rnd 2: *K4, K2tog; rep from *, end k2 = 292 sts. 
Rnd 3 Work even. 
Rnd 4: *K3, K2tog; rep from *, end k2 = 234 sts. 
Rnd 5 Work even. 
Rnd 6: *K2, K2tog; rep from *, end k2 = 176 sts. 
Rnd 7: Work even. 
Rep rnd 7 until hip band measures 14 cm/5 ½”, work eyelet rnd as foll: *K2tog, yo; rep from * around. Work even for 3,5 cm/1 ¼” 
more for the inner side of band. Bind off sts loosely. 
Finishing: 
Fold hip band in half to inside and sew in place, leaving an opening for elastics. Weave elastic through eyelet rnd, adjust length 
and secure elastic. Sew opening closed.
