The Screwed Deck

TRICK EFFECT & ROUTINE:  It looks like the screwiest deck you've ever seen

. . . but, it becomes a normal deck of Bicycle poker size cards. Huh? Here's what
happens- you show your easy-to-carry, go-anywhere 'porta-pack' It's glued

together and split in half. 2 convenient sections with brass fittings allow the
halves to be screwed together - easily. A good deck is like a good cue stick, you

say, as you literally screw the 2 halves together! Now you remove a full deck of

cards from the box. Ooooops! One section is twisted the wrong way. One half is
face up & the other half is face down One final twist of the deck straightens

everything out. You immediately ribbon spread the cards to show that it's a
(gasp!) real deck they can examine! It makes a great opener for any series of

card effects you're about to perform

PREPARATION: You need two decks of cards - one box - scissors - super glue -

a nut and bolt with matching threads and some 1/4 fome core.

Cut the card box in half and then cut half of a deck of cards in half as well. In

the top half of the box cut a piece of fome core the same size as the opening at
the "cut spade." Glue in place and then place the nut into the center of the fome

core and glue that in place as well.

In the bottom half - glue the entire set of "cut half" cards inside as if it were a

real deck - cut down the middle - into the middle of all of that - glue in the bolt -
protruding up and out. Set to dry.

METHOD: Stick the real deck into the top half of the box - let the flap cover the
protruding ends and cover the rest in a fist. Hold the other half in the other

hand. Screw together and then when the two lock - shake the cards out the flap
- these will be the real cards and place the box aside.
