Immobilizer II Immobilizer Swapping (Instrument Cluster)
This procedure details how to change the instrument cluster on VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda vehicles with Immobilizer II, where the immobilizer control module is integrated in instrument cluster.

Determining IMMO-ID (ECU)

[01 - Engine]
Look at the first "Extra" field. The 14-digit string is the Immo-ID.

Note: If the 17 Digit VIN is shown the vehicle does not use Immo II and the procedure here does not apply.

Look at the first "Extra" field. The 14-digit string is the Immo-ID.

Note: If the 17 Digit VIN is shown the vehicle does not use Immo II and the procedure here does not apply.
Instrument Cluster Swapping (Used Cluster)

Prerequisites:
The Coding from the OLD (original) cluster has been saved.
The NEW (USED) cluster is installed in the car.
Battery voltage at least 12.0 V.
All relevant coding and adaptation values have been transferred from the OLD (ORIGINAL) cluster to the NEW (USED) cluster.
Make sure to have the PIN for the NEW (USED) instrument cluster.
Make sure to have the Radio Code (for factory radios only).

Additional Audi Step Including vehicles that Do Not use an Integral Address 19 - CAN Gateway in the Cluster
Additional Adaptation Channels may be needed for SRI and the Internal Installation List of installed modules.
The Internal Installation List channels are generally 060, 061 and 062 when applicable.
The SRI channels vary by cluster. The automated SRI Reset feature of VCDS can be used to check the settings.


Matching the Cluster to the Engine ECU

Leave channel at "00"
[Read]

[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
Switch ignition Off and then back On within one minute, but do not start vehicle.

Notes: On some Euro Audi models with Immobilizer II, a PIN will be required.


Proceed with Key Matching (through Instrument Cluster) now.
Immobilizer II Key Matching (Cluster)
Key Matching

Prerequisites:
While adapting each key, make sure to place the other keys away from the ignition lock (reader coil). The passenger seat is an adequate place.
Battery voltage at least 12.5 V.

[Login - 11]
There are 2 possibilities how to enter a PIN, choose the one that applies for you.
4-digit PIN
Enter zero followed by the 4-digit PIN. For example, if your PIN is 1234, enter 01234.
7-digit PIN
[Use 7-digit PIN/SKC]
Enter the 7-digit PIN, Date on which the PIN was generated by the dealer, along with the Workshop Code (WSC) and the Importer number of the dealer that generated the code.
[OK]
VCDS will validate the data you have entered and return you to the Login screen, where the Login Code will show as "XXXXX".

[Adaptation - 10]
Enter 21 in "Channel Number".
[Read]
The "Stored Value" is the number of keys currently matched.
Enter a "new value" corresponding to the total number of keys to be matched, including any existing keys.
The old keys are automatically being cleared.
[Save]
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
Repeat the following steps until all Keys have been matched:
Switch Ignition OFF and remove Key.
Insert the next Key and switch Ignition ON.
The Immobilizer Warning Light will light up for ~2 seconds, wait until it goes out.

Note: The above steps after saving the adaptation, should not exceed 60 seconds!





Immobilizer III Immobilizer Swapping (Instrument Cluster)

This procedure details how to change the instrument cluster on VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda vehicles with Immobilizer III, where the immobilizer control module is integrated in instrument cluster. See the seperate instructions for models where the immobilizer control module is integrated in a separate immo box or where the immobilizer control module is integrated in kessy (Keyless Entry and Start SYstem).

Immo 3 Audi vehicles typically use adaptation channels 060, 06 1and 062 for the internal installation list since they do not have address 19-CAN Gateway. If in question, run a complete Adaptation Control Module Map with the old module installed.
Make sure to have BOTH PIN's, from the OLD (ORIGINAL) and the NEW (USED) instrument cluster.
Make sure to have the Radio Code (for factory radios only).

Switch OFF the ignition and let the car sit for ~1 minute, then switch ON the ignition again.
Verify that the NEW (USED) instrument cluster now shows the VIN/IMMO-ID of the vehicle now.


Proceed with Key Matching now.

Key Matching

Prerequisites:
All keys are either new or were adapted to this car (IMMO-ID) before.
You can match up to 8 keys.
While adapting each key, make sure to place the other keys away from the ignition lock (reader coil). The passenger seat is an adequate place.
Battery voltage at least 12.5 V.

Select Block 022.
[Go!]
The value in field 3 must be 1. If value is not 1, the key is not capable of being adapted to Immobilizer.
You can check each key in this manner.


Select Block 024.

Make sure the shown lock times in field 1, 2 and 3 are 0 (each field represents a time in minutes).
If the lock times are NOT 0:
Do NOT switch off the ignition!
Allow the car to sit for AT LEAST the number of minutes that were indicated by the fields 1-3.
