Subject: Differential Hardware Torque Specifications
There has been some confusion regarding differential hardware torque specifications. The correct
specifications are:
H40-60XL
Differential Case Halves 80-95 NM 60-70 LB FT
Ring Gear 110-135 NM 80-100 LB FT
Bearing Caps 225-250 NM 165-185 LB FT
S/H25-35XL
Differential Case Halves 50-60 NM 35-45 LB FT
Ring Gear 100-115 NM 75-85 LB FT
Bearing Cap 115-125 NM 85-90 LB FT
Service Manuals Affected

Service manual specifications are correct.
S/H25-35XL
Refer to section 1300, SRM 8. On page 17, step 1, change ring gear torque to 100-115 NM
(75-85 LB FT). On page 20, step 11, add bearing cap torque 115 to 125 NM (85-90 LB FT).
Refer to section 8000, SRM 225 and correct page 4 per specifications for S25-35XL listed
above.
