Materials Needed

·ð Royal Blue Worsted
·ð White Worsted
·ð Black Worsted
·ð Paddy Green Worsted
·ð Light Grey Worsted
·ð J Hook (for stocking)
·ð I Hook (for brim and features)
·ð ½ Black Button
Abbreviations
·ð Sc- single crochet
·ð Hdc- half double crochet
·ð Dc- double crochet
·ð St- stitch
·ð Ss- slip stitch
·ð Sk- skip
·ð Ch- chain
Work toe, heel and body of stocking in spring green, fasten off
Work cuff in royal blue, replacing the dc round with 2 rounds of hdc, fasten off, weave in ends
Fold down cuff and hold stocking upside down. Find the front center st and count to the right 7 st, join
royal blue using I hook
Row 1 in front loops only, sk 1st st, sc next, 2 hdc in next, dc next 8, 2 hdc in next, sc next, ss next, turn
Row 2 in both loops, sk 1st st, sc in next, hdc next 12, sc next, ss last, fasten off, weave in ends
Eye
With I hook and white, make a magic circle
Round 1 work 8 hdc into ring, tighten, do not join
Round 2 work 2 hdc in each st around, do not join
Round 3 *hdc, 2 hdc in next* around, do not join
Round 4 *hdc 2, 2 hdc in next* around, sc next, ss next, fasten off, leaving tail for sewing to stocking
Iris
With I hook and paddy green, make a magic circle, ch 2, work 10 dc into ring, tighten, join, fasten off
leaving tail for sewing to eye. Sew button to center of iris and then sew iris to center of eye
Mouth
With I hook and black, ch 11
Row 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook and across, ch 1, turn
Row 2 sk 1st st, hdc next 5, sk next st, hdc in last, ch 1, turn
Row 3 sk 1st st, hdc next 3, sk next st, hdc in last, ch 1, turn
Row 4 sk 1st st, hdc next, hdc2tog, sk next, hdc in last, ch 1, sc around entire piece, fasten off, leaving tail
for sewing to stocking
Teeth
With I hook and white, hold black piece right side facing with the wide end at the bottom. Attach white
to the front loop only of the bottom right st (see photo on next page), ch 1,work 3 hdc in next, ss in next,
3 dc in next, ss in next, 3 hdc in next, ss in next, fasten off, weave in ends.
Horns (make 2)
With I hook and light grey, make a magic circle
Round 1 work 4 sc into ring, tighten, do not join
Round 2 sc in each st around, do not join
Round 3 *sc, sc 2 in next st* twice, do not join
Round 4 sc in each st around, do not join
Round 5 work 2 sc in the 1st 3 st, sc in each remaining st, do not join
Round 6 sc in each st around, do not join
Round 7 sc 2, work 2 sc in the next 3 st, sc in each remaining st, ss in next, fasten off leaving tail for
sewing to stocking
Sew eye to stocking just below brim of cuff, sew mouth just below the eye. Sew one horn on either side
of brim and deck the halls!
