1. Who is Brian Boyd?
First off, I want to thank you for looking through my guide. If you take the time to implement what I talk
about here there is no reason why you cannot be making the kind of money that you want to in no time
at all. The fact of the matter is that this is the exact SEO process that I use to get my sites ranked in the
top 1-3 spots on Google for my desired keywords every time. At the end of the day this always means
more money in my pockets!
Sounds good, right? Sure does, but the question still remains- who is Brian Boyd? Let me take a moment
to introduce myself& ..I am a full-time internet marketer who is an absolute information junkie. I love to
learn about new things, as well as how people get these things to work for them. To that end, I have
spent the last five years learning the ins and outs of how to make money online- specifically SEO. Over
this period of time I have tried and failed many times with SEO. I have thrown thousands of dollars out
the window testing different services and backlink packages& .Every so often, however, I would find
something that worked for me. When this happened I felt like I just added another tool to my tool belt.
The end result is that I have developed an SEO process that has allowed me to consistently rank my
websites in the top 1-3 spots on Google for my desired keywords time and time again& .Here is the
bottom line- I know what works and I know what doesn t.
I can pick a niche, find a winning keyword, build a site and rank it over the course of a month or
two& AND SO CAN YOU! Here is a screen shot from a site of mine that was making me about $10 a
day& Guess what? I can have as many of these sites as I want!

2. My Business Model
My business is pretty simple. I build small, niche related sites in my spare time that make a few dollars a
day from Google AdSense and then sell them for a nice chink of money. I sell the majority of my sites to
a private network of buyers that I have built over the years. I also sell a few online via places such as
Flippa, etc. To date, I have sold 21 sites over the last 24-months (2010-2011). I sell some for a few
thousand dollars and some for much more. I am able to accomplish all of this in my spare time as this is
only a small portion of my business.
I choose not to hold onto the sites that I build for the long term for one main reason. That reason is that
I like to get big chunks of money all at one time as opposed to just a few dollars a day over a longer
period of time! Simply put, I enjoy the large payday. Once I receive that paycheck I can stop worrying
about that site forever and move onto the next project& .
The best way for me to show you what I have done is to give you a real life example of a site that I built
and sold for a profit. The site that I will show you is www.ringlingbrotherscircuscoupons.org.

Here is how much I sold it for& .
Currently, it looks like the site is ranking 3rd for its keywords& .Looking good. When I sold it in 2011 it
was ranking 3rd- right behind ringling.com.
In any event, it looks like the new owner has added a lot of fresh content to the site, recycled some of
the old content but has not done much backlink maintenance. This site has been bouncing around lately
between 3 and 6 which is an indication to me that there is not enough maintenance being done. We will
talk about backlink maintenance in a later chapter (it is very important if you want to keep a site ranking
high).

3. Keyword Research
There is no two ways about it- your keyword research is a super important part of the SEO process. If
you do not have a LOW COMPETITION keyword that is getting searched then you are not going to make
any money. Period.
I do my keyword research off the top of my head for the most part. I literally think of different terms and
plug them into Google s keyword tool& For the Ringling Brothers example used above my  seed
keyword was circus& After sorting the list (I sort by number of GLOBAL MONTHLY SEARCHES making sure
the EXACT box is ticked) I found that Ringling Brothers Circus coupons was getting a good amount of
searches. The minimum number of searches that I need to see before proceeding is 1300. Anything less
than that and there probably won t be enough money in it for me&
You may be asking yourself- is he serious? This is how he comes up with keywords? All I have to say is
that I have been able to uncover hundreds of good keywords just from doing research like what I
described above- off the top of my head. Patiently searching for, and choosing, the right keywords will
make the SEO process easy and simple& Choose the wrong keywords and you may never be able to
achieve the rankings that you want.
Hint: if I get a brain cramp and can t think of any seed keywords I will go over to eBay and start to just
look around. There are so many things for sale on eBay that you will surely be able to get your brain
going in the right direction&
After I have found a good looking keyword on the keyword tool my job is not done yet. I head over to
www.google.com and search for my keyword. Next, I simply evaluate the competition on the first page. I
take a common sense approach. Are there any huge authority sites that I may not be able to outrank? If
so, how many? Are there are other micro niche sites ranking on the first page? Is there space for me on
this first page or is there just no way? For example, if you search for a keyword and there are 7 or 8
massive authority sites on the first page then you want to look for something else. Not that you
wouldn t be able to rank a site on this page, it will just take too long. Like I said, I want quick money in
large chunks! Be smart, use common sense and this part is easy&
Keep in mind that this guide is not about keyword research. If you are new to internet marketing you
need to know and understand keyword research before you can be successful with this business model.

4. Domains & Hosting
Here is where things get interesting! Once you find the keyword that you want to build and rank a site
for you need get a good domain name. Don t worry, this is easy and not a problem. In my example
above, I was able to get an exact match domain (EMD) - www.ringlingbrotherscircuscoupons.org. (The
.com was not available so I just got the .org instead. Had the .org not been available I would have gotten
the .net& Never use .info or .us, etc. as they are HARD to rank. Only use .com, .org or .net- in that order)
Now, had that domain not been available I would have put the word  online at the end of it I have had
success with using the word  online as opposed to other words.
Eg: www.ringlingbrotherscircuscouponsonline.com. The important thing is that the exact keyword is in
the domain. The online is at the very end after the main keyword. In addition to this, I have also had
some success ranking sites with dashes in between the keywords. Eg: www.ringling-brothers-circus-
coupons.org. I, however, recommend adding online to the end as my results have been slightly better.
Hint: When checking to see if a domain is available I use www.instantdomainsearch.com. It will tell
me as I m typing if the domain that I want is available in the .com, .org or .net.
I m not going to get into a big discussion about where and how I register domains or where I buy my
hosting. Just let me say that I have found that GoDaddy has the best customer service out there. If you
are a newbie and trying to get a domain, hosting, Wordpress installed, etc. then the folks at GoDaddy
will help you out.

5. Wordpress Setup
After you have your domain and hosting you need to install Wordpress (again, if you are having trouble
contact customer support at GoDaddy- they will help).
There are a couple of things that you need to do within your Wordpress dashboard in order to get the
max SEO benefit. In short, you will need to make sure that you are working with an SEO friendly theme
and you will need to make sure that you have all of the proper plugins installed.
The theme that I recommend using is called PROSENSE. It is a free theme and you can download it HERE.
The theme has been around for a few years but I feel that it is as good today as it ever was. I actually
recently started using it again on the advice from a friend and have been pleasantly surprised. I get
consistently high click through rates with it so I cannot complain. If you need help learning how to install
the theme in Wordpress after you have downloaded here is a video that will help: CLICK HERE.
In regard to plugins, I only use two of them and they are both free. They are:
" All in One SEO Pack
" Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress
HERE is an article on how to upload and activate plugins from your Wordpress dashboard.
Once you have the All in One SEO Pack activated you are going to need to make a few changes. This
plugin is awesome as it will make your site SEO friendly and much easier to rank.

First things first, make sure that you have the circle next to  Enabled ticked or the plugin won t work
for you.
In the  Home Title you need to understand that this is the meta title on your homepage. In other
words, this is the title that everyone will see in their browsers. In addition, this is the title that search
engines will use as well. That said, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! The best thing to do with your title is to
think about it& You have to make sure you get it right. It s actually pretty simple once you get the hang
of it- here is an example: Ringling Brothers Circus Coupons | Ringling Brothers Coupon. I like to put my
main keyword first followed by my secondary keyword. This is the way I have always constructed my
titles and it has always worked for me.
The  Home Description box is also very important in regard to SEO. This description is what will show
up in the search engines when someone searches for your keywords. That said, you need to make sure
you get your keyword in the description a few times without making it sound unnatural. Here s the
catch- it needs to be less than 160 characters long& .Here is an example of what I have done (notice my
keywords are bold):
Finally, the  Home Keywords area will need filled out. Simply put, you are going to put the keywords
that you are trying to rank for in this area separated by a comma. I usually keep it to no more than three
keywords.
If you re having trouble with the SEO Pack plugin this video may be able to help.
As far as the sitemaps plugin goes, there is nothing to it. Just make sure that it is uploaded and
activated. It should rebuild your sitemap automatically each time you make a change to your site.

6. On Page SEO
Let me start by saying that your on page SEO is every bit as important as your off page SEO. You need to
know what you are doing in order to ensure that each post or page that you write is optimized correctly.
I typically start of by publishing 10 pages to my website as soon as possible- usually this is done before
the site is even indexed by Google. Next, I will release a new post every3-4 days until the site is sold. The
first 10 pages that I write will be about 1,000 words long- the rest will be a minimum of 500. As you can
see, the new owner of ringlingbrotherscircuscoupons.org has taken some of the content that was on
the homepage and put it elsewhere on the site. This may be part of the reason why the rankings have
jumped around a bit as there is now only 500 words on the homepage- at one time there was nearly
1100 words.
Here are the five things that I do when crafting my pages:
" I always make sure they are the correct length. Google loves fresh, unique and helpful content
as you know. Make sure that your first 10 posts are 1000 words long and the others are at least
500 words. I think that doing this shows the search engines that your articles provide value to
the reader which in turn helps to improve your rankings.
" I always make sure that my posts have a minimum of 3% keyword density. A guideline that I use
to make sure that I am on the right path is that I include my keyword in the first sentence and
the last sentence of each paragraph. Before publishing a post I always check the keyword
density using this website. If it is below 3% I strategically add the keywords a few more times
throughout.
" I link out to an authority site in my niche with secondary keywords. For example in the
ringlingbrotherscircuscoupons.org example I link out to ringling.com with the keywords Ringling
Brothers.
" I link out to another page on my website with my main keywords.
" I BOLD my main keywords one time per post.
Let me give you a brief overview of a small detail that is a very important part of on page SEO- this is
your H1 and H2 tags. The bottom line is that you need them in all of your posts. Period.
" Use your Main keyword in H1 tags. In my above example the H1 is the keyword that is in the
header (Ringling Brothers Circus Coupons).
" Use H2 tags to break down the main topic. In the above example the H2 s are  Why use Ringling
Brothers Circus Coupons? and  Places to Find Circus Coupons , etc&
" In my opinion, you don t have to use H3 with SEO in mind. Just use them if you can at some
point at the end of the post or ignore them if you can t.

7. Get Indexed Fast
Before I start with any linkbuilding or offline SEO stuff I like to make sure that my site has been fully
indexed by Google. As you know, we want to start off by posting 1000 words to the home page as well
as 9 additional 1000 word articles to the site. Now, I understand that this may take you a bit of time if
you are not a speedy writer or if you choose not to outsource this but it is really important that you put
all 10 articles up at once. If you drip the first group up then they will get indexed at different rates and
sometimes it takes forever. However, having them all up right from day 1 usually means that they will all
get indexed at the same time which is important. Because we have so much unique content I feel like
Google automatically sees the sites as ones that are authoritative and helpful to readers.
After I have all 10 of my articles posted I then need to get my site indexed. Now, this would happen
sooner or later on its own but I like to speed up the process. I have a really simple method to get my
sites indexed fast& .What I do is head over to blogger.com and create a free account. Blogger is owned
by Google so whenever you publish content on Blogger it gets crawled very quickly. The page I create in
blogger is really nothing special at all. I simply make a post of about 300 words about the niche that my
site is in. Within the post I link to my site with my keywords. It is as simple as that. The blogger.com site
gets crawled and indexed in a matter of a few minutes and then my site ultimately gets indexed. The key
is to be patient as your site getting indexed is an inexact science. Sometimes this will get your site
indexed completely in 15 minutes and sometimes it may take a day or so. In addition to this, I also might
include my anchor text and a link to my site in my signature on the Warrior Forum. I will then start a
new thread and make a few posts on other threads. Warrior Forum is always getting crawled so I find
that this helps to get my site indexed.
Once you have done these things to get your site indexed you need to check to see if they actually
worked. HERE is a video that will show you what you need to do in order to check and see if your site got
indexed& It is a super easy process& .
Hint: make sure the keywords and content on your blogger.com site are not the same as the site you
are trying to rank. You do not want to create any more competition for yourself!

8. Off Page SEO
Over the past 2 years I have used this backlinking strategy to rank and sell a total of 21 websites. This
strategy is central to my success. That said, it is nothing  earth shattering or  out of the box. Simply
put, it is my personal strategy that I follow each and every time in order to produce the results that I
want. Before I get into where I get my links from let s talks about my philosophy a bit& .
I feel as if the timeline is very important. This is why I have everything timed out to the day. I
have the knowledge of what has worked in the past and when. I attempt to duplicate the same
thing every time I am ranking a new site. You will see what I mean in a moment.
I feel as if  do follow and  no follow are overrated. I understand the difference between the
two and have not seen a big difference in results when I pay close attention to the do follow/no
follow designation.
I feel as if it is important to use your main keyword as your anchor text as much as possible. I
know there are a lot of people out there that say vary your anchor text- I am not one of them. I
use my main keywords for my anchor text at least 90% of the time. Also, I build just about all of
the links to my homepage. Again, I know that many people think that this is a poor practice but I
have been able to do it successfully.
I have never been a victim of a  slap or  dance or anything of that nature- and I do not want
to start now. It is never OK to use blackhat techniques.
The best way to show you what I do is to lay it out step-by-step&
Step 1: After my site is fully indexed by Google I will purchase 100 bookmarks from
www.mrbookmarks.com. Upon completion these bookmarks generally get my site showing up
somewhere on the first 3 pages or so of the Google search results. This is the very first backlinks that I
build no matter what. The guy at Mr. Bookmarks does a GREAT job and usually has the order turned
around in 4-5 days. Did I mention that 100 bookmarks only cost $10? You can t beat the price!
Step 2: As soon as I get my report from Mr. Bookmarks I then add some .edu and .gov links to the mix to
build trust and authority. I get my .edu s form the Warrior Forum. HERE is a link to the thread that I
order them from. I order 50 .gov and .edu bookmarks for $17. Again, this guy does great work and
usually has my order turned around in 3-5 days.
Step 3: Once I get my report back for my .edu and .gov links I then spend a few hours manually dropping
links on sites where my competitors have links. I find their links by using this search string in Google
link:ringling.com (see below).

Obviously, I used ringling.com because it is the highest ranking site for my keywords& You will use
whatever site ranks high for your keywords. I then go through and look at the results to see if there is
anywhere I can also get a link to my site. When I find a place like the one in red above here is what I do.
As you can see, I make an educated comment and link back with my name and keywords as well as my
website. This gives me the best chance of the comment being approved. I usually try to grab between 5-

10 comments. Also, I never spend more than a couple hours doing this step. Within 2 hours you should
be able to find a few places where you can make a comment and drop a link.
Step 4: It is now time for me to get some info about my site out there on the web. I do this by mass
distribution of articles& Though this does drive some traffic to my sites, the main benefit is that I pick up
around 500 backlinks from different article directories. Again, I use the service of a well-respected
Warrior to help me get the results that I need. HERE is a link to the thread. I pay $20 and all I have to do
is sit back and wait for him to email me the report that the job is finished. He can usually turn an order
around in about 7-8 days.
This is the point where I really start to see my sites jump up the search results. Generally after I get the
report back for the service in step 4 my site is somewhere on the first page for my desired keywords. All
that is left now is to give it a push to the top.
Step 5: Time for the final push to the top. I head on over to www.boostmyserps.com and purchase what
is known as a  Mixed Link Building- Platinum Package. This guy is awesome as his packages always get
me the results that I want. With the mixed link building package I get a linkwheel, 36 blog posts and 36
more article submissions. POWERFUL STUFF. The cost of this package is $57- it is worth every single
penny. Usually, he is pretty quick and will send you a report for this package within 5-7 business days.
Step 6: Time for maintenance. We can really put this thing on cruise control as all the heavy link building
is done& Here is the deal though- if you don t keep building links everyday your rankings will slip (by now
you should be in the top 3 for your keywords). How do I do my link maintenance? Easy, I use Build My
Rank. BMR is a great service that allows me to write short posts with a link in them with a distribution
rate of 1 to 10 a day. I usually set it so that 3 posts get dripped out to their network a day (after a few
weeks I turn it up to 5 posts per day)& All in all, it takes me about 10 minutes to write the posts as they
are only 150 words long. I may take a few hours every week and load up BMR with 30 posts or so
because I won t have to worry about it then& .I should note that BMR will cost you about $100/month so
it is a bit expensive but you will be able to add up to 10 of your sites to it. In my opinion it is
necessary& .If you do not want to pay the $100/month you can find a third party that will distribute your
articles for you to the BMR network. This is sometimes a cheaper alternative.

I can have a site ranked in the top 1-3 spots within 30 days and have it sold after 30 more. Like I said
earlier, you may want to hang onto your sites for the long term- I don t. The thing to remember with this
SEO process is that the two most important things are having good content on your site and building
trust and authority with the .edu and .gov links. These two things are the foundation that everything
else is built off of in my opinion.
The bottom line is that I spend about $100 on links for every new site that I make and turn it into a few
thousand dollars within 2-3 months. In my mind, that is a great investment! Keep in mind the fact that
during the whole second month before I sell the site it is making money from AdSense& I will recoup my
costs right there plus some.
This whole process can be duplicated by you if you have the patience and courage to put the time in.
Once you successfully follow this SEO plan one time you will be hooked- I guarantee it! Learn the basic
principles of on page and off page SEO and there will literally be no limit on the amount of cash you can
make.
