Designs By Mark - Photoshop Tips - Paste into Image
Paste
into Image
I have received
letters from DBM readers on how to insert an image into a TV or
Picture Frame type graphic. Well this is how you do it.
Create
an object, TV, Picture frame or whatever you need to place another
image into. I found an older tube I'm gonna use "The DBM backyard
special".
Press "D" and then "X" to reset to
default colors. Ok now heres an important part. Try and get your Foreground brown
color as close to mine. As you can see, its already in the default swatches.
Now
switch back to the other image. If you have a channel made of the area
you need to Paste Into, load it now or select the Magic Wand Tool (as
shown) and click inside the space you want this image to be in (make sure
you're on that layer when doing so).
I
want to paste my image inside my TV screen, so I will use the Magic
Wand and click inside my screen, then go to Edit>Paste Into. You will
now see the image you had in memory inside the spot.
To
move the pasted image/Photograph, press "V" or select the
Move Tool and move it to where you like. In most cases we will need to
resize the image after we have pasted it in, so then go to
Edit>Free Transform. Scale it where you want (like I did), then
double click inside the image to apply the transformation.
You will
notice where ever you move your Photo, it will always stay in the spot
you have selected (in step 3), this is because it makes a mask on
that layer and you donłt see out side that area anymore.
Ok, we're
done.
Now there's
one more tip I think you should know. You will probably want to move
this TV., Frame or what ever you have made, to another area of the
canvas.
First select
the layer with the image you just Pasted In (like my jet Photo). Now
link the Layer Mask to the image by clicking in between the 2 like
shown. Now link the next image (My TV. for example) along with them.
Now I can move the Photo, Layer Mask and TV. all at the same time,
check out the example below.
