Fr. Coprinus micaceus (Bull.: Fr.) Fr., Epicrisis (1838) 247.
Size of pileus when still closed: 20-40 x 18-30 mm, expanding to conical and then 60 mm broad. Colour of pileus: ver pale ochre to ochre, with granular, whitish to pale ochre veil, often seemingly smooth. Lamellae: free; L= >50. Stipe: up to 40-100 x 3-7 mm, pruinose, whitish. Smell: none
Spores: 7-10 x 4.5-6 µm, usually rhomboid, mitriform.
Base of spores: slightly conical to conical.
Basidia: 4-spored, 14-32 x 8-10 µm.
Pseudoparaphyses: 3-6.
Pleurocystidia: oblong, narrowly utriform, cylindric, 50-130 x 30-50 µm.
Cheilocystidia: oblong, narrowly utriform, cylindric 40-110 x 20-50 µm
Veil: globose elements, up to 70 µm wide.
Pileipellis: hymeniform.
Caulocystidia present.
Clamp-connections: present
Habitat: on and round truncs.
