Flexor Pollicis Longus

Patient position:
Sitting or supine with the wrist in neutral
position, hand resting on the table for
support. Stabilize the metacarpal bone and
proximal phalanx in extension. The
interphalangeal joint of the thumb should be
flexed.
Examiner pressure:
Against the palmar surface of the distal
phalanx in the direction of extension in the
plane of the palm.
Check on the radio button that best describes your test results. If the numeric grade is lower
