Pretend that you are a Patriot and that you want to convince your fellow colonists to support
the idea of independence from Great Britain. Write an open letter to the Loyalists explaining
the reasons that you believe the colonies should become independent.
Tip: Read the Declaration of Independence prior to drafting your letter.
