SUBJECT: Improved 3rd Function Internally Mounted Hose Group
A new hose group arrangement is available to reduce alignment and hose cracking problems
on the section of twin-line hose running over the free lift cylinder.
Modification to the upright assembly is required to install the new arrangement. All
modifications can be completed with the upright on the unit.
1. Raise the inner upright until the lower crossmember is even with the top of the cowl.
Warning: Block channels and chain carriage securely.
2. Locate and weld bracket -- item 14 for narrow, item 15 for wide -- to inner per
figures 1 and 2.
3. Lower the inner fully and chain the carriage to the top of the inner. This will put the
middle cross-member on the inner at a good working height.
4. Refer to figure 2. Locate and drill a .44 inch diameter hole thru the center
crossmember of the inner upright.
5. Remove the chain securing the carriage to the inner. Lower the carriage fully.
6. Remove the existing twin line header hoses and pilot hose.
7. Refer to figure 3. On wide 3-stage uprights only, remove the three piece sheave
assembly, items 8, 9, & 10 at the bottom of the intermediate upright. Install items 8,
9, and 10. (Not required on narrow 3-stage unless sheave assembly is damaged.)
8. Refer to figure 3. Remove the two supply tubes, items 11 & 12, and bulk head
fitting bracket, item 7 (for the twin line hose) at the top of outer upright
crossmember. Replace them with item 7 bracket, item ll R.H. tube and item 12
L.H. tube. Three bulk head fittings are required in the bracket. Reuse the two
fittings from the original bracket for the twin-line hose and install one new one -
item 13 - for the pilot hose.

ring the obligation to make such changes in equipment previously manufactured.

9. Select new twin line header hose and pilot hose from hose chart on page 4.
10. Install the new hoses onto the unit.
11. Clamp the twin line hose in position per figure 3 and detail  A .
A.) Install one clamp, item 1, at the center crossmember. Use
hardware shown to fasten spacer and clamp at hole drilled
in step 4.
B.) Install one clamp, item 1, at the lower bracket installed in
step 2. Use hardware shown.
12. Refer to figure 3. Remove existing clamp (for subheader hoses) at tne phasing
valve and locate new clamp, item 1, at the lower mounting capscrew on the phasing
valve.
13. Cycle the upright. Make sure all parts clear and all hoses track properly.
