REMOVAL - REFITTING FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT

[1] Gauge securing ring removal-refitting spanner (-).1601
.

REMOVAL



REMOVE THE REAR SEAT
.


Remove the protector (1)
.


Disconnect
:


the connector (2)



the fuel supply pipe (3)



the fuel return pipe (4)



Remove the ring (5) using the tool [1]
.


Remove the gauge (6) taking care not to damage or deform the float arm (7)
.

IMPERATIVE :
always replace the seal (8)
.

REFITTING



When fitting the gauge/pump assembly in the tank, take care not to damage the following components
:


the seal (8) on the fuel pump



the float arm (7)


NOTE :
always replace the seal (8) when removing the bush (5)
.


Place the gauge/pump assembly in position in the tank by aligning the arrow (A) with the mark (B)
.


Refit the ring (5) and tighten using the tool [1] until the mark (C) is aligned with the arrow (A) and the mark (B)
.


Reconnect
:


the supply pipe (3) and the return pipe (4)



the connector (2)



Refit the protector (1) (Notch (D) : Towards the front of the vehicle)
.


Position the gauge in the tank aligning the pin (a) with the notch (b)
.


Refit the gauge securing ring (5) ensuring that the 6 studs (6) are engaged in the ring (c)
.


Reconnect
:


the supply pipe (3) and the return pipe (4)



the connector (2)



Fit
:


the protector (1)



REPLACE REAR SEAT
