Bookmark Bears

Do not be put off by the thought of water-
colour painting it really is not as difficult as it
looks! Follow these easy steps and you will be
amazed at the lovely effect you can achieve.
Once you have mastered the technique of
shading you will be making bookmarks for
everyone in the family and all your friends! The
bookmarks make pretty little gifts on their own
or placed on a simple background they make a
lovely card and gift in one.
Materials Required:
Watercolour Paper 7cm x 16cm: BOC01.
Coloured Card 8cm x 17cm.
Ribbon, Cord or String 20cm.
Watercolour Pencils in the Following Colours:
Deep Chrome, Bronze, Sepia, Burnt Umber and
a Light and Dark Shade in a Colour to Match
the Background Card.
Plain White Plate or Palette.
Ink Pen with 0.1 Nib.
Waterproof Brown Ink.

Glue the teddy
and name panel to
the coloured card then
cut around the whole

the centre of the dome,
place the two ends of
ribbon together and
feed through the hole.

Pull through to within
a couple of centimetres
of the centre fold, poke the two ends through the loop
and pull tight.
To make into a card, simply randomly stamp the
wording and paw prints over the sheet of watercolour
paper. Once dry, position the bookmark in the centre and
fold the ribbon over the back using a little clear tape to
fix it on the back. Stick the
background panel to the card
using sticky fixers.
Teddy looks lovely with
a cute bow as well, add this
