Subject: F245 Cylinder Boring
To improve coolant circulation Teledyne Continental Motors no longer has the siamese bore in their F245
engines. This casting change reduces the thickness of the cylinder walls. Reboring in excess of .020 is not
recommended.
Only engine blocks prior to blocks with casting #F227A-605 can be bored to accept the
.030, .040 and .060 oversized piston rings.
Location of cylinder block casting number:
Viewed from tappet cover side of engine, the casting number is cast
into the block between the tappet cover and the oil pan rail.

Parts stock: Not affected
Effective S/N: Not affected
