Service Tool Installation Instructions

Prerequisites
The following procedures assume the user has basic computer skills. Basic computer skills are defined as knowing how Windows Operating system works and being able to navigate the file system (copying, moving, locating, renaming, removing software and files, etc.) either through Windows Explorer or My Computer. Also, the user understands common PC terminology.
Installing PC Service Tool for First Time
The following procedure assumes the user has downloaded the software from TRD and saved it on the PC (notebook computer) hard drive.
Find the setup.exe for the PC Service Tool file saved earlier on the hard drive.
Using the mouse, double click on the file name.
Follow the prompts on the screen.
Reboot PC
Proceed to Ifak drive installation
Upgrading PC Service Tool from Training Version
Using the Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, locate the PC Service Tool from the list of software and click Remove.
Reboot PC
Proceed to Installing PC Service Tool for the First Time
Upgrading PC Service Tool from Version 1.0 or later
Follow procedure for Installing PC Service Tool for the first time, number 1 through 4.
Installing Software Patch
The following procedure assumes the user has downloaded the software from TRD and saved it on the PC (notebook computer) hard drive.
Find the patch.exe for the PC Service Tool file saved earlier on the hard drive.
Using the mouse, double click on the file name.
Follow the prompts on the screen.
Reboot PC
Installing Ifak Driver
Unplug any Ifak devices from the PC
If an Ifak driver is already installed, remove the drivers by using the Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, locate the “is CAN Multidriver” from the list of software and click Remove.
Reboot PC
Find the setup.exe for the Ifak driver saved earlier on the hard drive.
Using the mouse, double click on the file name.
Follow the prompts on the screen.
Reboot PC
Plug Ifak device into USB port on PC
When windows installer opens, choose next/continue until finished
Run C:\Program Files\ifak system\is CAN Multidriver\bin\is CAN Configurator
Click the Add button
Choose PCI and click OK
Highlight device 0
Click Search attached device
Highlight the serial number of the unit in the new window and click OK
Click OK to close the configurator
Reboot PC
Installing Troubleshooting Manual
When downloading the trouble shooting manual from TRD, save as and rename the file to TroubleshootingManual-EN.pdf. Save to the C:\Program Files\......\PC Service Tool\Docs
