CINDERELLA
SCENE 1
Cinderella is cleaning the stairs, sweeping the floor. An evil stepmother comes, looks at her with contempt. She goes round Cinderella, checking all her work.
Stepmother: Come on do something girl !! What's this? Yuk!! It's dirty, horrible! I can see a lot of dust here. Clean it right now. Do you hear me?
Cinderella: But it's clean. I'm working here all day, really.
Stepmother: What?? Don't talk to me like that you little, stupid girl!! It's clean, right? I'll tell you what clean is. Do it, quickly!
Stepmother throws peas on the floor in order to give more work to Cinderella.
Cinderella is crying but she is cleaning over and over again.
In another room there sit two stepmother's daughters. They are sitting at the table, talking, laughing and give Cinderella a lot of different things to clean.
Sister 1: Hey you, ugly!
Sister 2: Hey you Cinderella!
Cinderella comes to the daughters with humility.
Sister 1: Cinderella make some doughnuts for us.
Sister 2: I want some tea.
When Cinderella brings tea one of the sisters says that it's too strong.
Sister2: Yuk! It's too strong. I don't want it! Bring me new one, now!!
Cinderella runs to the kitchen to prepares new tea for her. When she comes back she hears some new orders.
Sister 1: Give me a teaspoon.
Sister 2:Give me some sugar.
One of the sisters throws her dress towards Cinderella and makes her iron it.
Sister 1: Iron this for me.
When she is ironing the dress the other sister is asking her to do something different.
Sister 2: Cinderella, take this glass.
The girls run from the room with laughter. Cinderella sits near the fireplace and cries.
Cinderella: I'm so unhappy. Why are the sisters so cruel to me? I wish I was beautiful, had nice dresses. Life is so hard.
It's midnight.
SCENE 2
The scene takes place in the palace. King and Queen are trying to push Prince to get married. They both make a decision to have a ball in the palace in order to find a future wife for Prince.
King: Son!!!
Queen: Yes father??
King: Son is there any girl you like?
Prince: Well, there are a lot of beautiful girls but I don't see anybody for me.
Queen: My dear son what kind of woman are you looking for?
Prince: She has to be very special, beautiful and wonderful for me. She has to be sensitive.
King: It's time for you to get married.
Queen: Yes and we will help you to find a wife.
King: Let's make a royal ball!!
Prince: Ok, a royal ball! There will be a lot of wonderful girls. Maybe I will find this special one!
Queen: I'm sure you will. We have to announce it in the city.
Prince: Hey Guard!!!! Go to every house in the city and tell everybody about the ball in the palace. All young women are invited. Go quickly. Tell them!!!!
King: Hurry up!!!! My son is looking for a wife!!!!
SCENE 3
As usual Cinderella cleans the house.
Sister1: Cinderella, give me some water!
Sister 2: Sweep the floor!
Cinderella is sweeping the floor, she is very sad. Sisters are laughing all the time. One of the sisters spills water on the floor.
Sister 1: Oh, I'm sorry! Ha ha ha. Clean it Cinderella!
Cinderella cleans it with tears in her eyes. Suddenly stepmother comes.
Stepmother: Hello, my beautiful daughters! And you, what are you looking at? Clean it, right now! And don't tear your dress, you've got only this one.
Sisters: Ha Ha Ha.
Suddenly there comes a Royal Guard with a message from the Palace informing about the ball.
Guard: Let everybody here know that the Prince wishes to meet all young ladies at the royal ball! Out of them all, His Highness will choose himself a wife! The royal ball is going to be tomorrow- Saturday 23rd of June in the royal palace!!! All ladies are invited!!! Signed by His Highness - The Prince!
Sister 2: Oh, can it be, mother? Then I shall be the most beautiful there!
Sister 1: Oh to become the Prince's wife! Oh to be a queen! A real ball ! I must have a beautiful dress.
Sister 2: Oh I look wonderful in pink color.
Sister 1: And I look wonderful in blue color.
Cinderella was only dreaming about the ball in the Palace.
Sister 2: Cinderella sew me a dress, quickly!
Sister 1: Sew me a blue dress with some ribbons, quick.
Sisters: And make us some wonderful hair- styles.
Cinderella was sewing the dresses near the fireplace dreaming about the ball.
Cinderella: Oh to go to a royal ball once in my life. To get a dress, wonderful dress and make a beautiful hair-style. I would like to dance in a ball.
Sister 1: What are you thinking about?
Cinderella: I'm dreaming of a ball.
Sisters: Ha ha Cinderella in a ball! You can't go on a ball. It's the ball for ladies not for you.
Sisters laughing leave their rooms.
Cinderella: I would like to be beautiful and have a beautiful dress.
Suddenly there comes a fairy.
Fairy: You are beautiful!
Cinderella is scared of the woman.
Fairy: Don't be afraid, Cinderella! Would you like to go to a ball?
Cinderella: Oh yes, of course I would like to go there and dance. But it's impossible I haven't got a dress.
Fairy: But you have got me, I'm your fairy godmother! And don't waste your time! You must go to the ball, too! Go to the garden and bring me a pumpkin.
With one move Fairy makes a coach out of the pumpkin.
Cinderella : Oh, godmother, but I …. I cannot go to the ball like this!
Fairy charmed a beautiful dress.
Fairy: But remember, Cinderella, you have to be back at midnight! At that time my spells stop working! Don't be late!
During the ball
In the ball Prince was amazed..
Prince: Is she as nice as she is beautiful? Is she the one I keep waiting for?
Prince was dancing with Cinderella all evening.
Cinderella: oh, it is getting late! Excuse me, Your Highness, but I have to go…
Prince: But why, it is quite early! The ball is going on….
But Cinderella didn't listen to him and ran away. While she was running, she lost her slipper.
As usual Cinderella was occupied with cleaning and serving her stepsisters.
Sister 1: Oh the music on the ball was wonderful! All the dresses were beautiful.
Sister 2: Everything was great until the moment this lady came in.
Cinderella was only listening and smiling.
Sister 1: But this lady was beautiful and strange. Where is she from?
Sister 2: Oh come on! I don't care whether she is beautiful or not. I want to go to bed. Cinderella make our beds.
Cinderella goes to make their beds with a smile on her face.
THE NEXT DAY
Prince sends his guard to the town to find a mysterious woman who lost her slipper. And so the guard walks from house to house looking for her. Finally he reaches stepmother's house.
Stepmother: Oh, please come in, these are my beautiful daughters. Give them the slipper. Come on my sweet girls.
The guard makes all women measure the shoe but it doesn't fit to any. Then he asks if there is any other girl in the house.
Guard: I am sorry, ladies. Are there any more young girls in the household?
Stepmother: Of course no!
But Cinderella was standing nearby. The guard noticed her and asked her to come.
Guard: Come here girl.
The sisters were laughing but when the shoe fit her foot they changed their attitude towards Cinderella.
Sister 1: Oh it was you! The lady on the ball! Oh please forgive us !
Sister 2: We are sorry Cinderella! Please forgive us. We are so sorry that we were so cruel to you.
Cinderella was only smiling. There came the Prince and asked her to marry him.
Prince: Will you marry me, Cinderella?
Cinderella: Yes of course.
Both happy go towards the castle.
