What Wing Chun is - Hidden Knowldege
Although Wing Chun as a famous Martial Art is
well known worldwide it is still a secret legend,
where to find the root of wing chun.
The Knowledge of Wing Chun in fact is on of the
song shan shao lin temple "arts", but is nowadays not
known there for any reasons...
However - The shao lin (Buddha) way of enlightment
through harmonising body&mind is well seperated
in inner and outer ways (or forms).
The tai chi chuan and the wing chun kuen are two
of these forms.
The inner forms are the basic of every style
of kultivating qi, meaning pratice martial arts.
The inner way is also called, the soft way and this means,
it doesnt force!
The Translation of "Wing Chun Kuen" (its cantonese) to
modern chinese is "yong chun chuang,"
which actually means:
"Eternal Spring Boxing" or "Eternal Sring Sun".
Chuang (Kuen) exactly means "Fist".
The Fist is the Sun in the traditional symbolism.
This is Yang.
The Palm is the Yin,
while a secret Mudra is the Middle(Center),
it is the Earth, The "Hook", or Fok-Sao
(how the Wing Tsun People call it).
Based on these three hand forms every 'Gong Fu'
or 'Martial Art' is follows the dao...
so the Inner Way is not to Force the 'Force', but to feel it.
The Inner Room is the Feeling-Sense of Body and Mind.
The Feeling of Pressure, Kontakt, Motions and Emotions
belongs to an good Self-Defense, but the Inner Way leads to
a sense for nonmaterial things: Qi, and it Qualities, for example.
Since the shao lin monastry burned down there were nobody , who knews
these oldest and secretly and carefully taught ways.
Before that, The Inner Way of the shao lin dao was always taught secretly.
No One (Not even the japanese people) has knewn the correct traditional
teachings of the Inner School.
So Shao Lin more and more becomes a synonym for Fighting Arts,
or Show Acrobatics. Even the teachings of the famous Qi Gong
reaches back to the Original Inner School of the shao lin dao and is
practiced today mostly in very different way.
The Breathing-Technics of Buddhist and Taoist-Methods (Reverse Breathing)
are one of those Kathegories, made by the unknowing fellows of different schools.
So Qi (and the Breathing) flows and it follows. It follows the dao,
that means, it has a rythm, like moon, sun and earth.
In Traditional shao lin teaching the monks
practiced these Inner Way all day long. the arts of fighting in
Hard or Outer Forms was tht part when the student began to develop
his or her own style, which means a individull skill.
Any 'Gong Fu' System is one
of that individual styles, created through and by somebody,
practicing the inner way of kultivating (through relaxing).
So The Middle or Center is towards all Concentration and sensivity flows.
It flows, because its dont forced. If the dao is forced, it breaks, immediatly,
and there is no more longer a line, a way or channel for the force(Qi).
Force is not what can be felt with body. The Body can only learn and feel,
how to lead this force and how to feel it.
Basically the Shao Lin School teachs for 'Hands'.
In Wing Chun well Known, in fact, these 4 Hands
(Chinese: Shou, Kantones: Sao) are the Innerst Circle of Movements, body can do.
The 'Yong Chun' System Only uses these four Hands.
Any other System uses more.
The Whole Theaching contains 36 Hands, all of them based of the inner four Hands.
For hundreds of years the daoism knowledge of the buddhist shao lin temple in
song shan was only taught in circles of secret societies, spirituell or
fanatic people. One of these fanatic people has offered a main part
the true knowledge, which should be the key to any different individual styles.
An other One has kept enything he knows secret.
In Shao Lin official opinion, it is right the time, to give the whole world
these knowledge, the reasons are difficult to explain, its called evolution.
If this relates to Any of the Wing Chun Schools in world is not known.
It does not seem so.
