And the Chinese invented …

Many things which are part of our every day lives, were invented by the Chinese, including fireworks, spaghetti, kites, clocks, acupuncture, silk, paper, books, printing and ink. It's hard to imagine our lives without some of these things.

Without printing we (1) _____ able to communicate with other people at a distance or through time. If they (2) _____ books, Harry Potter, The Three Musketeers, Darwin's Origin of Species, Batman and a million others would not exist. More importantly for some, without books, we (3) _____ enjoy bedtime stories, use computer manuals, cook recipes from the other side of the world, consult travel guides and enjoy many other kinds of reading.
