Future Tenses
1. Future simple
We express Future Simple by putting “will” or “shall” and infinitive, for which we want to create this tense. We use Future Simple when:
We want to express our opinion or intention concerning future. Eg. I will see you on Monday.
We make a promise. Eg. We shall do our best.
We express states or activities which we have no influence on. Eg. Summer will come again.
We use I conditional. Eg. I will write this letter when you come back.
2. Future continuous
We crate Future Continuous by using “will be” or “shall be” with gerund. We use Future Continuous when:
We want to express some activity which will be lasting in future. Eg. We will be staying at home all day.
We talk about some activity which will be in progress in some moment in future. Eg. At 10.30 I will be watching television.
3. Future perfect
We create Future Perfect tense by putting “will have” or “shall have” with Past Participle. We use future perfect when:
An activity will have been done by some moment in future. Eg. By this time on Tuesday Peter will have written this letter.
In future some state will be lasting for some time. Eg. Next Sunday we will have known each other for 3 months.
Something must happen in future because of current circumstances. Eg. We will have seen this film.
4. Future perfect continuous
We create Future Perfect Continuous tense by putting “will have” or “shall have” with gerund. We use future perfect when:
We want to express that by some time in future it will be some time since an activity started. Eg. By June I will have been living here for ten years.
