stage (P.falcipare, P.malariae)

sulphones and pyrimethamine

artemether - from quinhaosu

combinations with tetracycline or doxycycline

2. radical cure

primaquine - the only schizonticidal drug

kills also gametocytes

3. chemoprophylaxis

break the link between exo-erythrocytic stage and erythrocyte

kill merozoites

4. prevention of transmission - rarely used only for this action

in combination with other agents
