Brazilian aero giant eyes UK for investment

This essay is based on article “Brazilian aero giant eyes UK for investment” written by James Quinn and basically focuses about future investments that might happened between Brazil and UK. As for GB, they are really open for all possible trades with this fast growing, Latin-American country, not only with Embraer, the Brazilian aircraft giant, mentioned in the headline.

British Secretary of State of Business, Vince Cable, is going to visit Brazil with few of representatives of other firms, to discuss possibility of cooperation in the future. He will be speaking with his Brazilian counterpart this week part of a bilateral series of talks. In general Great Brittan looks at this south-american country really friendly, as was pointed out in article, they want trade “in the conventional sense.”

For now there are very few Brazilian companies in UK, but mr Cable is deeply motivated to change it. He knows that the times when Boeing and EADS ruled the market is coming to the end so he wants to invest in fresh but really technical advanced companies, that might be giants on their worldwide markets in a really close future.

Mr Cable and representants of companies like Jaguar Land Rover, Mott MacDonald, Chemring, Foster and Partners and Cobham will visit Brazilian city named Recife that will be one of the host cities of 2014 World Cup. The problems that will be bringing out during conversation with minister will be for example problems that British firms are dealing with when trying to invest in the country. According to him, there is a streak of protectionism in Brazilian policy that is making everything harder for foreign companies.

At the same time, the university and science minister, David Willetts is going to visit some countries such as Columbia and Mexico on his educational mission focused on skills training, that, he says, is helps when attempting to place inward investment. He will be accompanied by Mark Anderson, head of strategy at educational specialist Pearson, as well as education leaders including Nigel Thrift, the vice-chancellor of the University of Warwick. Willetts said that Mexico and Columbia makes you look brighter in the future in this world, as there is a couple of emerging powers that matters as much as this one’s from GB, so they put a lot of effort into them.

According to Mr Cable, trade with Brazil had shrunk during the previous government, but it pointed to figures showing sustained growth in recent years, that British Secretary of State of Business clearly wants to use to boost quality of British-Brazilian relations.
