creative Christmas balls
Have a creative and "green" Christmas with these fun balls that you can make yourself out of aluminum cans. Our old tree from last year has been given eternal life with this aluminum wrap!
Rinse and save empty beverage cans. Cut off the ends of the cans using a thick-bladed knife. Then slit one side so you have a rectangular piece of aluminum. Use weights to lay it flat. Using a ruler and a craft knife, trace strips about 1 cm wide. Also trace lines along the ends of the strips, to show where you will punch holes with a small hole punch. Then, cut the strips with scissors.
Punch holes on the ends of each strip of aluminum, using the line you traced as a guide. Attach all the strips together with prong paper fasteners, at both ends. On one end, add a piece of string so you can hang your Christmas ball when it's done. Then, bend and fan out the strips of aluminum - you may need to apply some force. The studs of the prong paper fasteners should be on the outside of the ball.
