The same typefaces, with ex-heights normalized to 12 pt Verdana (adjusted point sizes):

But they 're not - their ex-heights are the same, though.

It vouldn't be so bad if there were substitutions among this set. This is why a non-font-secure stylesheet system needs a font-size adjustment mechanism.
