Typical spark pług temperatures measured by thermocoupłe plugs in the Volkswagen "1200" (Uo h.p. S.A.E.) engine are shown in the graph below. (Basic timing 10° BTDC) .
Both spark pługs operate above the carbon fouling temperaturę of approximately 700° F. . . . yet, they stay below the preignition "ceil-ing" of approximately 1750° F. at maxłmum output.
