WE have discussed and demonstrated what is consid-ered to be a beginning of the basics for creating tatting. It is only a beginning. You will be able to decide if you want to learn morę (please practice and give it a fair chance!).
There are books available which will teach you morę of the morę advance techniques of the art. One of the best books currently available is THE COMPLETE BOOK OF TATTING by Rebecca Jones From this book you will learn how to join threads and hide ends, join motifs with-out twisting picots and lots of other necessary techniques.
I would also recommend TATTING RINGS OF FLOWERS by Mary Maynard. This book provides practice in the techniques needed for longer morę intricate patterns. Techniques are presented progressively and if you start at the beginning, you can make finished projects quickly and with only rings. Permission granted by the author so that you can even start to make extra money almost im-mediately.
TATTING WITH VISUAL PATTERNS bv Mary Konior is another book available through SN0W600SE which is easy for a beginner to use. Cover photo is of one of Mary’s designs which Betty tatted.
