In a chcck pattern, all the stitchcs that appear as krat stitchcs on the right side iłt the work are twisted in every row—Le._t krat twisted on the right side ot the wurk, pnHed twisted on the wrong sidc i*ł tltc work. Ali ot the stitches that appear as purl stitchcs on tltc right sidc of the work are purled on the right sidc of the work, krat on the wrong sidc of the work.

In the ribhing and hourglass cable, all the sritches that appear as krat stitchcs on the right side of the work are tw isted in ever\ row. kor the hourglass shupe, the sritches are cn>ssed (>ee cable patterns, page 138).

Diamonds and Zigzag Lines

Oval Design with Slipped Stitches

In tlus oval design, the knit stitches are krat twisted in cvery row on the nght sidc of the work and only slipped, not purled. in tltc rows on the wrong side of the work. Tlus results in a knit twisted slipped stitch.
