Coverthe top quarter of the board with blue background paper and the bottom three-quarters with green paper strips cut to resemble grass. Give each student a copy of the flower pattern (page 85) to color and cut out. Inside the flowers, have students write new skills they have learned. Attach the flowers to the display, adding stems and leaves cut from paper. Personalize the flowers by writing students' names on the leaves.

Get the class dreaming about summer. Cover the top half of the board with blue background paper and the bottom half with brown background paper cut to resemble a sandy beach.Create waves by attaching dark and light blue scalloped paper in layers. Copy, color, and cut out the sun pattern (page 102) and the cloud pattern (page 71) and post. Enlarge, color, and cut out the palm tree pattern (page 80) and attach it to the display. Enlarge copies of the suitcase pattern (page 105 *or students to color and cut out.Then,have students write about what they would bring with them to an island. Display the student writing.
