1.    Yugoslavion field ormy locotions shown represenf planned disposihons for defense--in o cordon arrongement. When Ihe Germon aftack came, the Yugoslovs were still mobil-izing; only the regular divisions of the Third and Fifth Armies were fully mobilized.

There were some Frontier Guard battalions

in posilion, but, in generał, Yugoslav defenses were disorganized, ond unils were committed piecemeal.

2.    Elements of W Force begon arriving in Greece on 7 Marcb, The force ullimately tofaled about 30,000 and was comprised of the 8ritish lst Armored Brigade, Ihe 6th Australian Division, the 2d New Zealond Division, and supporting Iroops.

3.    Cut off os o result of the advance of elements of the XL Ponzer Corps, the Greek First Army surrendered on 20 April. The Second Army had copituloted earlier, on 9 April.

4.    Kleists First Ponzer Group originolly

was designoted for employment in the invosiori of Greece, under Twelfth Army. With the decision to invade Yugoslavia, it's mission was chonged to participafe in that operation, although the XI Corps wos never utilized In either mvasion. About 10 April, however, the 5lh Ponzer Division was transferred to the Twelfth Army contro! (to XL Panzer Corps).

5.    Nofe that the preliminorles to the success-ful penetration of Centrol Greece were really part of the Yugoslovian invosion—the isolation of Yugoslayia from British-Greek help { advance of Ihe 9th ond 2nd Ponzer Divisions, com-mencing on 6 April).
