Basic Kinesio Technique application for gastrocne-mius musele. To assist in plantar flexion rangę of motion and limit musele weakness.
As the patient progresses a tendon correction may be applied over the Achilles tendon to assist with
movement.
Basic Kinesio Technique applicadon for tibialis anterior musele. To assist in dorsi flexion and limit musele weakness.
Basic Kinesio Technique application for peroneus longus and/or brevis musele. To assist in ankle eversion and limit musele weakness.
Application of ligament correction for anterior talofibular ligament, using a figurę of 8 pattem and one lateral heel-Iock around the ankle. Begin the Kinesio Strip on the medial aspect of the ankle approximately at the tarsal navicular joint. Apply light tension (10-15 percent) across the plantar surface of the foot. Aim the Kinesio strip for the anterior aspect of the lateral malleolus.
Application is shown over pre-wrap (underwrap).
As the Kinesio Strip rounds the lateral aspect of the ankle hołd the tape onto the skin with one hand, ovcr the anterior talo fibular ligament apply a ligament correction technique (25 - 40 percent tension) over the ligament. Move the hand which was holding the tension on lateral aspect of the foot to the superior aspect of the lateral malleolus.
Again apply light, 25% of available tension to the Kinesio Strip as the strip is applied around the upper aspect of the ankle.
Continue the corrective Kinesio strip onto the medial aspect of the ankle with an angle which crosses back over the initial starting point of the strip. The strip continues back onto the plantar surface of the ankle and angles towards the lateral aspect of the heel.
As the corrective Kinesio strip angles from the plantar surface onto the lateral aspect of the heel, again inerease tension to ligament correction, 75-100 % of available tension over the posterior talofibular ligament. End the Kinesio strip by finishing on the medial aspect of the ankle near the superior aspect of the medial malleolus. Forming a figurę of 8 pattem.
