Give each student a copy of pa ges 43-45, twro shęets of 9” x 6’ blue construetion paper, and one sheet of 4y/i x 6" construetion paper in each of the followmg cplors: red, yellow, orange, and brown. Instruct each student to coior and cut out lier patlems and booklet pages. (Remind students to color lightly over the text so the story can be read-) Then direćt the student to glue the animal pictures to the booklet Lreetops where indteated. On booklet page 4, have her draw a picture of herself in the tree. \:ext, using the treetop tempiąte, have the student tracę the shape onto each sheet of 41//' x 6' construetion paper and cut out the shapes. Hąve her align each resulting shape on top ol a booklet treetop and then staple it where indicated. Next, have the student glue the cover Iree to a sheet of blue con-struction paper and persona liże it. Io assemble tlie booklet, direct her to stack her pages in numerical order and place them between the cover sheets. Staple the top of each studenta booklet. Then read a completed booklet with students. !nvite the student to practice reading her booklet with a classmate, lifting each treetop to see the answer.
