Can we be late for meetings?

Theoretically we should not be late. Sometimes however, the host expects us to be late and is not ready on time as well. If we are iiwited for e.g.

8 P.M. we should come right on time. If we are iiwited between 7 and 8 P.M. our arrival can depend on traffic density. When going to a party or restaurant it is recommended to be right on time. The host greets their guests at the door, and then the hostess greets and says goodbye in the room. The host leads them back to the door.
