§ 50. Similar to Polish oj, and sometimes so transoribed, it is pronounced w i tli out reaching the target point. With the tongue gradually ahifting from the position of Polish o towardg En^ish [i] the articudation breakn off with the tongue somewhere between [•] and [i], The lips also change their position; from open rounded they gradually become slightly spread and drawn back.

In a finał position or before voiced consonants, [oi] is rather long: h°y- joy. t°y. ^coJ- Roy, boya, joya, toya. noiae, boaL, oil, soil, spoił, coin

Notę 1. In the position before voiceless consonants [oi] is shortened somewhat:
