• Use the absolute superlative (el superlativo absoluto) to express the maximum degree with-out comparing it to others. Use muy + adjective, or add the ending -lsimo, -lsima, -isimos, -isimas.

Las flores son muy bellas. Las flores son bellisimas.

Theflowers arevery beautiful.

Theyoung man is very intelligent.

El joven es muy inteligente. Eljoven es iiiteligentisimo.

These adjectives also agree in gender and number with the nouns they modify.

Spelling changes occur when certain adjective endings are dropped to add the superlative -lsimo endings. Adjectives that end in -co, -go, or -z change spelling to qu, gu, and c:
