Violetta Trella Bibliotherapy in information society
Information technology has an influence on nearly every aspect of human lite. The Computer, as a cognitive tool, can support activities within bibliotherapy, while the printed book is not the only didactic means used during a bibliotherapeutic process. Nowadays the so-całled alternative reading materials are used as well, e.g. musie, illus-trations, films and Computer programs. Bibliotherapy’s object of interest is any rccord-ed expression of human thought intended for publication, regardless of physical data carrier and way of recording the content. During a therapy it is necessary to use com-piiation forms in order to acthrate as many communication channels as possible - ver-bal, visual and multimedia. Research shows that eyesight is our most receptlve sense ind combination of audio and visual transmission results in high teaching efflciency, which is directly connected with upbringing - an object of interest of pedagogy, in duding special pedagogy, therapeutic pedagogy and bibliotherapy. In part one of the paper, issues connected with cyberbibłiotherapy (computer-assisted bibliotherapeu-tic process) as a form of therapy in information society. Possibilities of applying al temative reading materials to bibliotherapy, fiinctioning in digitai environment, were presented. The role of visualisation was discussed as well. It was pointed that in this context. the area of humanised Computer appłying can be activities using the book as a basie tool of therapy. Part two of the paper fbcuses on how big influence has the way ofexisting of literaturę on rcception of the literary work. Basic ideas of Total Literaturę ('Literatura totalna’) and the arństic book as a tool of bibliotherapy in a post-modem society were discussed. Part of discussion focused on the cyberspace as psyehołogical snące Part three is concemed with ethical bases of bibliotherapy and purposefulness offormulating a set of rules for a bibhotherapist s operation.
