When do you need to recaiibrate
After completing any maintenance, or when you identify one of the following conditions,
your Scope soldering system may need recalibration when either of these conditions apply.
Condition I — The temperaturę you have chosen using the sliding temperaturę selector does not agree with the LED Bar display. \
Condition II The Actual tip temperaturę as measured by say a Scope
ST400 soldering iron tester is not the same as the LED Bar display.
O
Step I — Set sliding temperaturę selector to 470 and measure tip temperaturę with your Scope ST400 thermometer.
Step II — Set VR1, let IC first pin output 0 MV (measure IC first pin and ground with Voltage meter)
Step ni — Adjust VR2 until your thermometer reads approximately 470 - (clockwise to decrease temperaturę.)
Step IV — Adjust VR3 to fine tune to 470 exactly (clockwise to increase temperaturę).
Step V — Remove iron from thermometer and adjust VR6 until the LED Bar just indicates
470° C.
Step VI — Set sliding temperaturę selector to 200 C. and allow iron to cool to this temperaturo.
Step VII — Adjust VR4 until tip temperaturę is 200 C. replace iron on thermometer.
Step VIII — Adjust VR5 until LED Bar just indicates 200° C.
Step IX — Double check 470° with VR3 - then 200° with VR4 repeat steps 3 to 8 until there is no variatioh between settings.
