"I wanted to look like Britney," says Jennifer. "I was a cheerleader at high school and I wanted to be perfect." Jennifer coloured her hair and changed her clothes. But for Jennifer, there was always one problem. Her nose. "I hated looking in the mirror," says Jennifer. ''I thought I had the biggest nose." On her fifteenth birthday, Jennifer got the present she wanted. A nose operation. Jennifer is not the first or the last teenager to have cosmetic surgery. In America, 336,000 teenagers had cosmetic surgery in 2003. 32% of 15-year-old girls and boys are planning to have cosmetic surgery. Jennifer's surgery wasn't easy. It gave her breathing problems and that means she can't do activities like swimming anymore. Doctor Adrian Richards says a teenager should not think about cosmetic surgery. "Your body is changing and it can still change until you are 20 years old. This is no haircut," he says.
