Finished Size 34 (38,42,46,50)" bust drcumference. Sweater measures 38", mod-eled with plenty of positive ease.

Yarn Elseheth Lavold Hempathy (41% cotton, 34% hemp, 25% modal; 154 yd (142 m]/50 g): #017 vivid green, 6 (6, 7,8,9) skeins. Yarn distributed by Knitting Fever. Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm): 16" and 26" circulars (cir). Size 3 (3.25 mm): 26" cir and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); waste yarn or stitch holders; tapestry needle.

Gauge 24 sts and 38 rnds/rows = 4" in linen st on larger needle; 24 sts and 27 rows = 4" in lace patt on larger needle.

BODY

With smaller cir needle, CO 204 (228, 252, 276, 300) sts. Place marker (pm) and join in the md. Rep Rnd 1 of Twisted Rib chart until piece measures 3" from CO; pm for side seam after 102 (114, 126, 138, 150) sts on last rnd. Change to larger, longer cir needle and beg working Linen Stitch chart as foli: *K1 (seam st), work Rnd 1 of chart to 1 st before m, kl (seam st); rep from * once morę. Cont in patt, keeping 1 st each side of m in St st for side seams, until piece measures 12'A (13, 13'/2, 14, 14'/2)" from CO, ending with Row 2 or 4 of patt. Divide for armholes: BO 4 (5, 6, 7, 8) sts for underarm, work in patt to m, place rem 102 (114, 126, 138, 150) sts on holder for front.

BACK

Work 98 (109, 120, 131, 142) sts of back in rows, maintaining linen st patt. Next row: (WS) BO 4 (5, 6, 7, 8) sts for underarm, work to end—94 (104, 114, 124, 134) sts rem. Dec row: (RS) Kl, ssk (see Glossary), work in patt to last 3 sts, k2tog, kl—2 sts dec’d. Cont in patt, rep Dec row every RS row 3 (4, 9, 12, 13) morę times, then every 4th row 3 (3, 1,0, 0) time(s)—80 (88, 92, 98, 106) sts rem. Work even until armholes measure 3Vi (4, 4, 4‘/2, 5)", ending with a WS row. Beg and ending as indicated on chart (chart includes 3 St st edge sts at each armhole), work Rows 1 and 2 of Lace chart until armholes measure 7/i (8, 8, 8Vi, 9)", ending with a WS row. Shape shoul-ders: Cont in patt, BO 5 (6, 7, 8, 10) sts at beg of next 4 rows—60 (64, 64, 66, 66) sts rem for neck. Place sts on holder.

FRONT

Place 102 (114, 126, 138, 150) front sts on larger, longer cir needle. With RS facing, join yarn at underarm. Shape armholes: Cont in patt, BO 4 (5, 6, 7, 8) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end every RS row 4 (5, 10, 13, 14) times, then every 4 rows 3 (3, 1, 0, 0) time(s)—80 (88, 92, 98, 106) sts rem. Work as for back to end.

SLEEVES

With dpn, CO 66 (72, 74, 78, 84) sts. Dis-tribute sts evenly over 3 needles, pm, and join in the rnd. Work Rnd 1 of Twisted Rib chart 7 times—7 rnds total. Shape sleeve: Inc 1 st each side of m in patt on next md. Work 7 rnds even, working new sts into patt. Rep last 8 rnds once—4 sts inc’d. Change to larger, shorter cir needle. Inc rnd: Kl, Ml (see Glossary), work Linen Stitch chart to last st, Ml, kl—2 sts inc’d. Cont in patt, rep Inc rnd every 8 rnds 3 times, working new sts into patt and keeping 1 st each side of m in St st—78 (84, 86, 90, 96) sts. Work even until piece measures 7Zi” from CO. Shape cap: BO 4 (5, 6, 7,
