Fig. 50) - perhaps because the wearer no longer found it comfortable and wished to convert an old shoe, that had once been his ‘best’, into something morę suitable for everyday use. In the Trig Lane group, however, shoes and boots of all kinds are much less pointed, and there are no ‘poulaines’ which exceed a length of c.40 mm.
