IMPORTANT
If the screan is removed ueing an
oscillating blade type cutter, one must:
- reaove the trim from the rear cross panel (there is a risk of it being cut),
- uae a long blade to cut through the lower part and a short blade to cut through the upper part.
See section 50 "Toaling - General".
Remove all residue of raastic and dust from the screen frame with a compressed air gun.
NOTĘ: use only dry air free from all traces of oil.
It is a generał rule that no cleaning product or degreasing solvent is to be applied to the mastic film.
PREPARING THE NEW SCREEN
Sharpen the blade whilst running the machinę in position 2.
Start cutting by inserting the blade in-to the adhesive fillet (at the bottom of the screen).
Cut round the screen in a clockwise direction, varying the power output of the machinę to suit the force required to cut through the fillet.
NOTĘ; the blade must be very Sharp. The blade must be sharpened before each time it is used.
CLEANING THE REAR SCREEN FRAME
Using a spatula 20 to 25mm wide, the edge of which has been sharpened, cut and smooth down the raastic fillet to leave a thicknesa of between 0.5 and lmm of the product on the framę.
Carefully clean the enamelled surface around the entire periphery of the screen.
1. Using, if possible, deniineralised water followed by drying with a clean, dry cloth*
2. Thert using the degreasing solventf applied with the special cloth which forras part of the kit.
Apply glass primer over a width of approximately 20mm from the edge of the glass.
YOTE: It is essential to leave a film of the original mastic on the frame to act as a support for the new fillet.
