BEGIN by making a single straight stitch. Use four to six strands of embroidery thread for a chunky look like we’ve done or just two for a morę delicate looking finish.
COME up through the middle of your first stitch to split it. Come back down again, creating a second stitch that is the same length as your f irst stitch.
AS with split stitch, begin with a single straight stitch. For stem stitch you can use familiar stranded cotton or indivisible threads such as Perle cotton.
INSTEAD of splitting the stitch, come up just to the left of your previous stitch. Continue stitching in this way, always coming up on the same side of your previous stitch.
You can make your chain stitch chunky or delicate depending on the size

FOR this stitch, youll be working right to left. Bring your needle up to the surface of yourfabric. Come back down through the same hole, leaving a loop of thread on the front of your fabric.
BRING your needle back up to the surface, just a few millimetres to the left of your previous stitch. Catch your needle in the loop as you go. This will create the first link in your chain stitch.
FOR the next link in the chain, repeat the process. Come back down through the same hole and leave a smali loop on the front of your fabric, keeping your loops the same size.
TO close the chain, make a smali tacking stitch around your loop to secure in place. For the strawberry pips, stitch just one loop then make a single smali tacking stitch to secure it in place.
